Ok, I swear I'm here.

Life gets a little crazy so I sort of forget to post as often as I want. There are days things will happen, and I'll think to myself 'remember to blog about that'...but then the day gets away from me. So as of late:

*Jimmie won the championship. Thrilled...or not. NASCAR needs to start shaking things up or they're going to lose my undying love and loyalty. Time to re-coop and wait for Daytona again. Now, I'll just sit and twiddle my thumbs.

*Speaking of sports, we lost our last home game to WVU. Only by 5 points so it could have been worse but on your senior night of marching band...you hope for the big win. And it was senior night, so I played my final notes in Nippert Stadium and they even said my name right. I didn't cry though. I got a little teary-eyed during dismissal:

But I got over it rather quickly. I've always embraced change more than I've mourned it. I didn't cry my senior night of high school band and I certainly didn't cry at graduation. I more than likely rub my hands together and say, "Bring on the next big thing." We have our concert on Tuesday night and some type of bowl game to contend with over Christmas Break and our Spring football game come April...so it's never really over for me. But the usual Saturday game day shenanigans are done. I am very ok with this. My heart knows it's time to gear up for the next stage in my life: adulthood. I have a year of education classes and student teaching left. I will be moving out of the UC neighborhood next year. I'll probably get something that resembles a real job. So, this is just one more step.

*My Mom and Mike were down this weekend for Senior Night. On a top 10 list of my favorite people, they easily are at the top. Everyone always comments on how my Mooze and I are exactly alike and I couldn't take a higher compliment. My mom is beautiful, so funny, strong...if anyone sees her traits in me, I can only be flattered. They spent the weekend hanging out with my friends, making me laugh, and spending money on me. What more could I ask for? Even the dog came down and had a good time.

*I have 7 papers due in the next 3 weeks. Then, exams. Kill me now. Please. Curse my english major existence. I'm having a really difficult time concentrating this quarter (this has been an on-going problem for awhile and the doctor thought it had to do with my lack of sleep but nothing has been really done about this. Another thought it was ADHD. I don't think so, I can FORCE myself to concentrate but it's very difficult to do. I'm just not as motivated as I used to be.

*There's this guy...makes me smile. I don't know how much to put on here, I haven't been comfortable talking about my personal personal life as of late...so I'll just leave you with this.

It's not PMS, it's a cold dammit!

I am the Queen of Grump when it comes to being sick and with a slightly weaker immune system, I'm always sick. All of my friends, however, assume that I'm just PMSing. No. I don't PMS, I rage. This is just grump.

I hate talking about my social life on a romantic level because I was the talk of the collegiate marching band village for three years whether it refered to The Cheater or The Mentally Unstable One so I've refrained from telling people what's been going on in my life if I can help it. I will say that I'm really bad at this jumping back on the bandwagon thing. I'm nervous, distrustful, and generally not very good at "dating". I had a stretch in the summer where various friends were trying to helpfully set me up with their friends, and I realized that I was REALLY bad at blind dates. And they were all crazy. I also had sworn off band guys a while back. I was NEVER going through that again. I should have added that to the List of things I swore I'd never do in college but find myself doing anyways.

And that is as comfortable as I'll be about that subject for the time being.

Is it Friday yet?

My Boys

It's sad when re-runs of the show "My Boys" makes me tear up because it is a taping of my very existence only with slightly different characters. I now know what the heck my problem is. This would also explain why the closest friend I've ever had besides my own mother was a short Jewish guy from Chicago. Or why I went on a road trip with 3 guys a few weekends ago to visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame and our friend Kyle. Or why I spent 6 hours or more with Josh, Jay, and Tom playing James Bond on 64 in high school. Or why I am highly capable of being a guys friend but when it comes to dating...I really, REALLY suck.

Interesting feelings in my stomach lately...

So I'm two days away from my 21st which is so incredibly odd.
I went to BG on Saturday to visit peeps. Despite the night's insane crisis (multiple) I think everything went really well. My mom and Mike took us to Jed's for dinner and then after we got Ash a ride to her party, spent time with Dan, Josh, Jackie and Eric then just me and Josh for the rest of the evening. It was quite entertaining as always. Spent Sunday with Dad and had birthday dinner and presents. Today was my day with Moozie...got my horizontal license and we shopped all day til we dropped. My grandparents and God-mother/Aunt had me pick out a ring from Osterman's for my 21st so I found a few I loved and will make the decision later this week. I'm excited for some "bling". I'm just spending time with the family tonight and then tomorrow I head back to Cincy to party like it's my birthday (oh because it is!)
I really don't know what to think about you. You blindsided me like a mac truck out of completely nowhere...and I couldn't be happier about it. You give me tickles in my tummy, anyone says your name and I grin, I get excited to see your name on the caller ID...this hasn't been me for such a long time. Where ever this goes and where ever we end up, I don't care because these past few weeks have been sweeeeeet. I'm glad we have our "thing".

Tidbit

Nick told me today that the reason men cheat on women is because women try to force men to be what they're not and push them away by doing it. I spent two years trying to reconcile with myself that it WASN'T my fault. So why does one comment un-ravel all the work I've done?

Single Life

One finds that it is most difficult to "enjoy the single life" as Evan has commanded me to do so when every single one of your housemates, candidate class, best friends, and even not-so-best friends is in a committed relationship. I may be overexaggerating a BIT...but seriously. Almost all. And I remember when it was the other way around, I was in the relationship and no one else was. I can't keep up with the trend!!!! Oh well. I was never really a trendy person to begin with. But cupid, cut me some slack. It's not that I even want a relationship because I'm still hatin away on the men. I just don't want my nose rubbed in relationships every minute of every day. I have nothing against them, I think the right person is WONDERFUL. But sheesh. It's suffocating in here!
